Principal’s Message

After 15 years in accounting, Mrs. Flowers answered the call to education. Although she knew at an early age that she wanted to be an educator, Mrs. Flowers did not pursue her dreams until after 9/11. The impacts of the tragic incident and the recession gave her much-needed clarity and perspective into her desire to become a teacher.

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

Welcome to Goodyear Elementary School. It is indeed a tremendous honor and privilege to serve as your principal for the 2026–2027 school year. We are pleased that you have visited our website, and if you need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for sharing your children; they are truly a gift to us.

Your child's elementary school years are a special time in his or her life. During this time, children undergo important developmental changes. It is also a time when children become more autonomous, transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn.

I believe that parents are the first teachers of their children and play a central role in their education. I invite you to participate in open, honest, and continuous communication with your child's teachers to ensure a successful home–school partnership. Please tell our teachers about your child's needs throughout the year so that he or she has the very best educational experience possible.

Our focus is on continuing to excel academically. Our staff takes great pride in providing a safe, secure learning environment and is committed to giving every student opportunities to flourish and grow. We believe that success — both academically and in life — is not built solely around one's IQ; rather, it is a combination of hard work, accountability, and genuine care for others.

As principal, it is important to me that our staff, parents, and students become true partners in this journey. All of us must come to school each day happy and ready to give our best. A positive attitude will enable us to become problem solvers in a fun, nurturing environment.

Thank you in advance for supporting your child's success — in the classroom and through our family organizations. If I can ever be of assistance, please contact me.

Warm regards,
Mrs. Alicia Flowers
