Artist Faith Ringgold story quilts and Black History Month

Kindergarten through 2nd grade will focus on paper weaving and learning weaving vocabulary. 3rd through 5th will learn weaving terms and work to practice drawing on paper then painting and marking on fabric quarters to create a quilt together. All grades will learn about artists Faith Ringgold & Bisa Butler specifically focusing on their quilts of stories and portraits highlighting black history. This is an ongoing project that will continue through February.
