Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to our Goodyear Teacher of the Year
Ms. Hayes received her B.S.Ed in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. Ms. Hayes is in her sixth year of teaching, having taught in Carroll County before coming to Glynn County. She has experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade. Ms. Hayes will be getting married on October 3rd of this year to her fiance Greyson.
Beyond her expertise in the classroom, Ms. Hayes is a leader amongst her peers. She is the team lead for 5th grade and she volunteers with Girls on the Run, an organization that promotes self-respect and positive development of young women (3rd – 5th graders) in our school.
Ms. Hayes believes that the secret to a productive classroom is that the students have a relationship with the teacher and with each other. Inside her classroom, she is encouraging children to give the best of themselves and if they are having a bad day, they know she will be there to help them. Ms. Hayes has wanted to be a teacher since she was 5 years old and becoming teacher of the year is a huge honor.
Teachers have commented some wonderful things about her like: "Hayes is amazing. Anytime you need help she is there to help. " And, "Ms. Hayes had truly been a pleasure to work with since day 1. Not only did she motivate me to be a better teacher she also encouraged me to branch out and do other things in the school such as co-coach with her for Girls on the Run! I am extremely grateful for everything Ms. Hayes has done for me. She truly deserved teacher of the year! Congratulations again!"
